teaches creative writing at 茄子视频, as well as lecturing in the School of Humanities. His latest collection won the 2020 Hawthornden Prize for Literature and was shortlisted for the Costa Poetry Award. He has also won the Polari First Book Prize, and had collections named among Books of the Year in The Independent, The Guardian and The Observer.
Other writers reading at the free (but ticketed) event – organised by Vanguard Readings and running from 7-9pm – are award-winning novelist SJ Watson (Before I Go To Sleep, Final Cut), Hannah Tovey (The Education of Ivy Edwards and the soon-to-be published Is This It?), poet and Faber Academy director Richard Skinner (Invisible Sun) and Susannah Wise (This Fragile Earth). The event will be hosted by Hove-based novelist Helen Trevorrow (In The Wake, New Brighton).
