The , which has moved online due to COVID-19, is a celebration of creative and original work from postgraduate students who have shown resilience, tenacity and determination to keep going despite the extraordinary and world-changing impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

The show follows the launches of both the last month and the , which went live early in July.

MA students from School of Art and School of Media students includes work by MA Fine Art student Verity Baird, an oil painter whose work is conceptual and has associations to kitsch art and abstract expressionism. Verity’s research looks at the effects appropriations of feminist cartoons have on culture and the expectations placed on women today.

MA Photography student Samuel Horn revisited a personal archive of images he’d assembled over the past decade and focused on locations of spiritual and religious significance. He says the images from his project “inhabit the zone between divine pleasure and unholy disappointment”.

Alice Arbury, an MA Textiles student, is exhibiting a series of surface patterns for soft furnishings within the home which focus on trying to promote happiness and wellbeing in a world where mental health is becoming more widely acknowledged and understood.

A number of , including artist talks and discussions on subjects from virtual reality to the way sensitive and taboo topics are shown in contemporary art are also being held between 17-23 July.

Duncan Bullen, Deputy Head of the School of Art, said: “The school is immensely proud of the achievement of this group of masters students. They have worked unbelievably hard, displaying innovation and resourcefulness during this current pandemic, to produce and present an online exhibition publicly.
