BSc(Hons) Sport Management has received backing from the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) against the sport and physical activity sector’s professional standards framework.
The professional development body for the UK’s sport and physical activity sector, is “committed to supporting, developing and enabling professionals and organisations to succeed and, as a result, inspire our nation to become more active”.
Professor Jo Doust, Head of the university’s School of Sport and Service Management, said: "We have been very pleased to be a CIMSPA Higher Education Partner for the last two years and are delighted that the BSc Sport Management degree is the first of our programmes to receive endorsement.
“The course offers students wide-ranging opportunities to develop personally and professionally. Endorsement against the CIMSPA professional standard of General Manager confirms that the course meets industry standards and provides graduates with the chance to start their careers in a positive way.”
The university first became a CIMSPA Higher Education Partner in January 2018 and students across different courses have benefitted as a result.
