Dr Jane Morris, Deputy Head of the university’s School of Health Sciences, received the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) Distinguished Service Award in recognition of her leadership and commitment to physiotherapy education.
Jane said: “As a physiotherapist and academic I am honoured to have received this award from the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. It has been made possible by the rich opportunities I have had throughout my career of working with, and learning from, inspirational colleagues and students.”
The CSP is the professional, educational and trade union body for the UK’s 58,000 chartered physiotherapists, physiotherapy students and support workers. The organisation aims to “transform lives, maximise independence and empower populations”.
Dr Morris qualified as a physiotherapist from Kings College London in 1976. She became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in 2007 and was awarded a National Teaching Fellowship by the Higher Education Academy in 2012.
Since 2014, Dr Morris has been Chair of the National Association of Educators in Practice (NAEP) an interprofessional organisation that promotes high-quality education in practice.
