About this bursary
This bursary is for first-year undergraduate students who started their course in 2017–18, and who are normally resident in England or an EU country. It supports care leavers as well as students from lower-income families and is funded by the university. Part-time student should see separate tab.

You do not need to repay a 茄子视频 bursary. It is paid in the first year of your course only. Cash bursaries are paid in two equal instalments on 16 January and 2 May 2018.
Additional financial support
Depending on your circumstances, you could also be eligible to receive further bursaries and financial support from the 茄子视频 in subsequent years of study.
Student Support Fund
If you are in hardship you can apply for additional help from the Student Support Fund in every year of your course.
Who is eligible?
To be eligible to apply for this bursary you must:
- be in the first year of an undergraduate course
- be normally resident in England and have been assessed as eligible to receive full funding from Student Finance England OR be normally resident in an EU country other than the UK and have been assessed as eligible to receive a tuition fee loan from Student Finance England
- be entering higher education for the first time in academic year 2017–18
- have a household income up to and including £25,000 a year.
Your eligibility for this bursary will be re-assessed each academic year.
Exceptions
Occupational Therapy and Paramedic Practice courses have different tuition fee and funding arrangements. Students on these courses do not qualify for the 茄子视频 bursary. Students in receipt of another bursary are not eligible.
How to apply
You do not need to make a separate application to be considered for this bursary, unless you are an EU student, as we use the information you have provided to UCAS and Student Finance England to assess your eligibility. EU students need to complete the EU Higher Education Bursary application form provided by the EU team at Student Finance England when you apply for a tuition fee loan.
Please make sure that you:
- apply for your student loans and maintenance grant as soon as possible;
- apply for means-tested support and agree to sharing the information you (or your parent/guardian) provide about household income (we need this information to assess your eligibility and we only see it if permission has been given); and
- contact Student Finance England if you are not sure whether you have given this permission.
